Abstract

Objective: To study the hepatoprotective effect of bark of Balanites aegyptiaca (Linn). Materials and methods: Effect of alcohol extract of B. aegyptiaca bark (300mg/kg P.O.) was tested against CCl4 induced liver damage in rats. Results and conclusions: The extract was effective in preventing damage which was evident by parameters such as SGPT, SGOT, SALP and total bilirubin.
