Shear Flow of an Elastico-viscous Fluid Past a Flat Plate with Suction

Abstract

The problem of the laminar boundary layer on a semi-infinite flat plate in a uniform shear flow, i.e., in a stream of constant vorticity, has been investigated by Li[l]. Recently, Sakurai [2] has extended the problem to the case of an infinite flat plate with uniform suction. The purpose of this note is to give an exact solution of the problem considered by Sakurai in the case of an Elastico-viscous fluid.
