Abstract

In India tribals are neglected a lot, discriminated in terms of income distribution and social status. Most of them are desperately poor, backward, generally uneducated and lead a hard and miserable life. There are more than 400 tribal communities in India, out of which 75 Primitive Tribal Groups (PTG) have been identified by the government by 1989.
