Abstract

Food production is inadequate to meet the needs of the population in developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Consequently, incidence of malnutrition and undernutrition is very high among these groups of the population. Since the percapita milk production is low in the developing countries, attempts have been made by several workers to develop weaning foods based on blends of cereals, legumes and oilseed meals suitable for feeding weaned infants and preschool children.
