Abstract

"Let food be your medicine and medicine your food", said Hippocrates about 2500 years ago. This aptly holds good at the present age when mankind is ravished with diseases related to dietary irregularities that are taking a toll on the human race. The effective management of noncommunicable diseases which exhibit a higher morbidity and mortality pattern is the need of the hour.
