Impact of Red Palm Oil Supplementation on Nutritional Status of Anaemic Adolescent Girls
AbstractProper nutritional care during adolescence helps to promote and maintain their overall development. The adolescents should be provided with good nutrition and protected from deficiency diseases and infections. Good nutrition not only improves the well being of the adolescents but also their potential learning ability, thus contributing to better academic performance and safe prepreparation for future motherhood. Food supplement is an attractive and least expensive strategy with high nutrient density to reach the quality food for adolescent girls. Besides encouraging the use of environmental sources of nutrients, there is a need for promotion of more potent food sources like Red palm oil (RPO).
