Abstract

Children are captives of their family eating pattern, their in come, their preferences, habits, availability of nutritious food, practices, cultures and beliefs. Knowledge of the nutritional consequences of consumption patterns is important in the development of strategies to promote adolescent nutrition because any nutritional disorder during this period can interfere with scholastic performance and also can impair body-functions, working ability, strength, physical growth, social development and intellectual validity.
