Abstract

Perceived as a malady afflicting only adults, stress and anxiety are now affecting children and adolescents at an alarming rate. Symptoms of stress may be cognitive , emotional, physical or behavioral. The behavioral influences include bad food choices, poor eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle. Psychological factors involved are stress, anxiety and depression, leading to excessive calorie intake for self-gratification, School children take to more fatty foods as their lives grow stressful.
