Abstract

Several reports have been made on the relationship of the fats and atherosclerosis. A series of studies emphasised the fact that severe atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease are prevalent among the people who consumed high percentage of saturated fats of animal origin whereas the vegetable oils did not cause harmful effects.
