Abstract

The growth, health and efficiency of a population are determined by adequate food supply, furnishing all the essential nutrients in the required quantities. The recommended dietary allowances (RDA) are the basis to plan, formulate and provide adequate diets. Hence, it is very essential to make sure that the dietary allowances are realistic. Since not much work has been done on adolescent girls with regard to recommended dietary allowances and it is a most crucial period in one's life, adolescent girls were selected as subjects for the study.
