M. P. Birla Planetarium - Glorious 50 years

Abstract

In 1962 the M. P. Birla Planetarium opened its gates to the public for the first ever planetarium show in Asia! It is a matter of pride and happiness that M. P. Birla Planetarium has completed 50 glorious years. In these fifty years the Planetarium has become not only a landmark of Kolkata, but also has evolved into a centre of excellence in pursuit of Astronomy popularization, awareness, studies and research activities. It has created a unique niche in the field of Astronomy education in our country. The journey has been exciting and eventful.
