Abstract

Covid (Corona-virus disease) caused by SARS COV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2) triggered in recent past a worldwide fatal which posed challenges before global healthcare system. Apart from extensive researches for development of effective therapeutics against this viral disease several plant metabolites have been taken into account for treatment of Covid symptoms like weakness, cough and cold. Several biologically active components viz., “Allicinâ€, “Diallyltrisulfideâ€, “Saponinâ€, “Mentholâ€, “Carvacrol†extracted from plants took more attention to cure severe fatal pandemics. A lot of research works has been done in recent times on the production of effective therapeutics against this global pandemic, but still there is no approved therapy against the Covid-19 pandemic. We have herein reviewed some biologically active plant-synthesized secondary metabolites, which have prospect against SARS COV-2 as therapeutic agents.
