Abstract

Dietary fibre has been one of the most enduring dietary interest of this decade, world wide. An interplay of the effects of the physical and chemical properties of dietary fibre has physiological importance with nutritional implications. Clinical investigations and research findings point out to the favourable effect of a high fibre diet in the management of disease conditions like diabetes mellitus, cardio vascular diseases, obesity and gastro intestinal disorders.
