Abstract

A balanced diet is essential for healthy growth. Inadequate intake of food leads to wasting (less than normal body weight) and stunting (less than normal height) in children. Hence practices regarding breast feeding and weaning need to be given due importance and the tribal community educated regarding infant feeding, weaning and its relation to health and diseases.
