Abstract

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) encompasses a variety of emotional and physical symptoms which occur from several days to several weeks before the onset of menstruation and subside with the menstrual flow. Approximately ten percent of women report moderate to severe premenstrual symptoms that affect their work efficiency. There is no evidence that nutritional deficiencies cause PMS.
