Abstract

Iron and Iodine are the two micronutrients which are essential as constituents of enzymes and proteins for normal processes of growth, development, maintenance and resistance to infection. Iron deficiency does not just result in either anaemia or iodine deficiency in just goitre. The implications are much more severe and serious than the mere outward symptoms.
