Abstract

The present investigation is an attempt at a scientific study of camel milk as to the biological value of its proteins and their relative value in nutrition. Being a supplementary article of diet in many parts of interior of Western Rajasthan, it can be regarded as a desirable substitute for the more expensive animal proteins. In an earlier publication (in press), the authors have found that the camel milk proteins maintain growth and ossification of long bones even in mature albino rats.
