Abstract

Iron is deficient in most of the cereal-based diets and this has led to the suggestion that cereal grain products be fortified with iron salt of high bio availability. To what extent, the added iron affects the growth and how much of it becomes available for hemoglobin synthesis in rats have been examined in the present study.
