Abstract

Under drought condition in 1975 most of the bamboo plants in north-eastern states of India flowered. Mature grains were collected and consumed by local people after roasting or moist cooking. The nutritive value of bamboo grains appears to be not known. Therefore, studies were conducted for the estimation of nutritive value of bamboo grains for mice, which may be used as a thumb value for human being.
