Abstract

Leafy vegetables form the most nutritive menu of man and tone up his energy and vigour. Green leafy vegetables are within the reach of poor man, and are richest in their nutritive value. A recent survey of vegetables showed that there are about 1000 species of tropical plants of annual and perennial habitat with edible leaves, but only ten per cent of them are currently being cultivated.
