Fabricating, Welding, and Inspecting Turbular Structures
Jump To References Section
Abstract
Tubular structures may range from relatively simple sign poles to complex towers for offshore drilling platforms. They may use pipe or box (square or rectangular) tubes. When a designer selects tubular members for a frame or truss, it is relatively easy to si/e the members for axial loads, in-plane or out-of plane bending, and occasionally, torsional loads.
