Engaged with a mission to accelerate national development without causing irreversible damage to the environment, the Geological Survey ojIndia (GSI), credited as one of the Jfontliners in thejield organised research worldwide, contributes significantly to the country's economy. The article outlines this organisation and its activities briefly through its 150-year sojourn.
